International Air Freight & Import Operations
Openwork is hiring an experienced Air Import Agent for an international logistics operation in Houston, TX 77073. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented logistics professional with strong, hands-on experience coordinating air freight imports from origin through final destination.
Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of import/export experience with a focus on air freight, along with knowledge of import documentation, customs requirements, shipment tracking, and customer service.
Position at a Glance:
Location: Houston, TX 77073
Pay: $23.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Overtime & Weekends: Occasional, based on business needs

What You'll Be Doing:
- Coordinate and manage air freight import shipments from origin through final destination.
- Ensure shipments meet customs regulations and documentation requirements.
- Communicate with airlines, customs brokers, and other logistics partners.
- Prepare and review Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and other import documentation.
- Track shipments and address delays or issues that may affect delivery.
- Keep customers informed of shipment status and respond to questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate import records and update internal systems.
- Stay current with import regulations and industry practices.
- Assist with additional responsibilities based on department and business needs Air Import Agent.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Minimum 3 years of import/export experience with a focus on air freight — REQUIRED.
- Hands-on air import experience.
- GED or equivalent education.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, import documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Experience coordinating with airlines, customs brokers, and other logistics partners.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with logistics software such as WebCargo or CargoWise.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Air Import Agent.
