Openwork is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a CNC Lathe Machinist in Spartanburg, SC. In this role, you will set up CNC lathes according to blueprint specifications, selecting the appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials. After machining parts, you will verify accuracy using precision measuring tools and make any necessary adjustments to ensure all specifications and tolerances are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines according to blueprint specifications.
- Select proper fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
- Machine parts made from metals, plastics, and alloys.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Apprenticeship or formal training program (preferred).
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
- Experience using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Experience machining various metal and plastic materials.
- Experience with OKUMA CNC Lathe machines and programming.
