Openwork is hiring an experienced Electrical Technician for a manufacturing company in Oklahoma City, OK. This direct-hire position involves industrial electrical assembly, control panel wiring, automation components, and equipment troubleshooting.
Qualified candidates must have at least 3 years of electrical experience, including hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control panels.
Position at a Glance:
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73179
Pay: $22.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
Shift: Weekend Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Overtime: As needed based on business needs
What You'll Be Doing:
- Build, assemble, and wire industrial electrical control panels.
- Install and connect PLCs, VFDs, relays, transformers, sensors, and terminal blocks.
- Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Perform point-to-point wiring and verify electrical connections.
- Connect motors, power supplies, and control panels to industrial equipment.
- Test electrical systems and troubleshoot wiring or equipment issues.
- Use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and proper operation.
- Follow electrical safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Minimum 3 years of electrical field experience — REQUIRED.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, and control panel wiring — REQUIRED.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems — REQUIRED.
- Relevant industrial electrical or manufacturing equipment experience.
- Knowledge of electrical components, wiring methods, and control systems.
- Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively and understand work instructions in English.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
Important: Residential or commercial electrical experience alone does not meet the qualifications. Candidates must also have relevant hands-on experience with industrial controls, PLCs, VFDs, and control panel wiring.
Work Environment:
- Non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Industrial noise requiring participation in a hearing conservation program.
- Ability to safely lift 25–50 pounds.
- Standing, walking, sitting, and other physical activity throughout the shift.
- Regular work around industrial machinery and electrical equipment.
- Overtime as required by business needs.
- Compliance with electrical and workplace safety procedures.
