Seeking: Fabrication Shop Helper (Miscellaneous)

Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour (based on experience) | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekends & Overtime: Based on company needs

Openwork is hiring Fabrication Shop Helpers (Miscellaneous) for a leading steel and aluminum manufacturing company in Northeast Houston. This is a great opportunity for candidates with fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop experience who want a stable position with opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities:

Assist fabricators with assembling and fitting metal components.
Read blueprints and welding symbols.
Grind, cut, and prepare materials for production.
Operate hand and power tools safely.
Move materials using forklifts, hoists, or overhead cranes as needed.
Help fabricate grating panels and other metal products.
Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
Support production goals by working closely with the fabrication team.

Qualifications:

1–2 years of fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop experience required.
Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
Experience with grinders and cutting tools.
Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically active environment.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
