Position Summary:
The Grade Off Associate is responsible for inspecting, sorting, and grading used tires according to established quality standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring tires are properly categorized for recycling, processing, resale, or disposal while maintaining a safe, productive, and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect used tires for damage, tread depth, and overall condition.
- Sort tires by size, type, quality, and designated processing category.
- Identify and remove debris or tires that do not meet processing standards.
- Maintain production and quality goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving tires throughout the facility.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, production, or tire industry experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor work environment.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, dirt, machinery, and industrial noise.
- Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety procedures.
Dress Code & Safety Requirements:
- Steel-toe boots are required and must be worn at all times.
- Long pants are required; no shorts, leggings, sweatpants, or athletic wear.
- Shirts must have sleeves; no tank tops or cut-off shirts.
- Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other PPE must be worn as required by company policy.
- No loose-fitting clothing that could become caught in machinery.
- Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back.
- No open-toed shoes, Crocs, sandals, slides, or canvas shoes.
- Jewelry should be kept to a minimum for safety purposes.
- Employees must maintain a professional appearance and comply with all facility safety guidelines.
Additional Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions as needed.
