Openwork is seeking a skilled HVAC Test Stand Technician to support a leading organization in the North Houston area. This role is ideal for experienced HVAC professionals who enjoy hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and working alongside engineering teams to ensure systems perform at the highest level.

This role is ideal for experienced HVAC professionals who enjoy hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and working alongside engineering teams to ensure systems perform at the highest level.
In this position, you will test, evaluate, and validate HVAC systems in a controlled environment, playing a critical role in product quality and performance.
Core Responsibilities:
- Inspect and evaluate HVAC systems using blueprints, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Set up and configure test stands and equipment based on engineering specifications.
- Operate testing systems to assess HVAC performance and functionality.
- Troubleshoot system issues and identify performance inconsistencies.
- Record and document test data, observations, and results accurately.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to review findings.
- Assist with building or modifying test setups as required.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety and efficiency.
- Demonstrate equipment or testing procedures during customer visits as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Experience and Skills:

- Minimum of 2+ years of commercial HVAC experience required.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in HVAC systems.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.
- Experience with testing and diagnostic equipment (gauges, thermometers, pressure tools).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- HVAC technical training or trade school strongly preferred.
- EPA Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working around HVAC systems and mechanical equipment.
