Manufacturing Inventory & Material Coordination
Openwork is hiring an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for a manufacturing facility in Denton, TX. This position supports daily operations by receiving and tracking materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, performing cycle counts, researching discrepancies, and coordinating materials between production, warehouse, and shipping teams.
Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of inventory control, warehouse inventory, material control, or inventory-related manufacturing experience. This role combines computer-based inventory work with hands-on responsibilities on the manufacturing floor.
Position at a Glance:
Location: Denton, TX
Pay: $19.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Shift: 1st Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Overtime: Required as needed, including 12-hour shifts and weekends when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Receive materials and verify quantities against shipping and receiving documents.
- Organize and track raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventories.
- Compare physical inventory counts with system records.
- Research inventory discrepancies and help resolve record errors.
- Record inventory movements accurately in the company’s tracking system.
- Track lumber, wooden flanges, rods, bolts, screws, nuts, and other production materials.
- Assemble and prepare hardware kits for production and customer shipments.
- Verify parts and quantities against specification sheets.
- Replenish production areas and stage materials as needed.
- Work with production, warehouse, receiving, and shipping teams to keep materials moving.
- Help maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of inventory control, warehouse inventory, material control, or inventory-related manufacturing experience — REQUIRED.
- Experience counting, organizing, tracking, and handling materials.
- Familiarity with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.
- Strong counting, recordkeeping, and basic computer skills.
- Comfortable entering inventory transactions and maintaining accurate system records.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inventory discrepancies.
- Ability to follow written instructions and specification sheets.
- Clear communication and a dependable, team-oriented approach.
- Comfortable working on your feet and handling materials throughout the workday.
- Availability for required overtime, including 12-hour shifts and weekends.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Expect a mix of computer-based inventory work and hands-on work in a manufacturing plant.
- Regular interaction with inventory, production, warehouse, receiving, and shipping teams.
- Hands-on counting, organizing, staging, and handling of materials.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive material handling.
- Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Work requires accuracy when moving between physical inventory and computer records.
- Extended shifts and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
