Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a skilled Machining Engineer. In this dynamic and collaborative role, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-precision mold parts, setting up advanced CNC machinery, and driving continuous improvement in production. In a Machining Engineer job you’ll be responsible for:
- Generating programs for CNC high-speed mills and CNC lathes using machine controllers and CAM software.
- Setting up and operating CNC and manual machinery (mills, lathes, and surface grinders) to produce mold and machine parts.
- Assembling, disassembling, polishing, and modifying ASB mold parts according to strict quality and polishing standards.
- Studying blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, and specifications while interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
- Performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines and equipment to ensure a safe, organized work environment.
- Collaborating with design and technique engineers, managing raw materials, and creating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
What you’ll need:
- Associate’s degree from a technical school with a machining concentration, 2–3 years of related machining experience/training, or equivalent experience in mold manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with CNC lathes, CNC high-speed machining centers, and G-code/M-code programming.
- Proficiency with manual lathes, manual mills, surface grinders, and CAM software.
- Strong mathematical capabilities, including plane/solid geometry, trigonometry, and practical algebra.
- Ability to interpret complex technical instructions, blueprints, and orthographic drawings.
- Proficiency with basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
