Important: This position requires working in a safety-sensitive manufacturing environment. Applicants must be comfortable following all safety requirements, including remaining clean-shaven at all times to properly wear a respirator.

Openwork is hiring a Packaging Specialist for a leading manufacturing facility in Houston. If you have experience in manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, material handling, forklift operation, or machine operation, this is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a company that values quality, teamwork, and safety. This is a hands-on position that combines packaging responsibilities with general labor duties to support daily production operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Package finished products according to customer and shipping specifications.
- Wrap, crate, and secure heavy lead products for safe transportation.
- Weigh, measure, label, and verify finished products before shipment.
- Inspect packaged products to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with shipping requirements.
- Operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
- Read and follow work orders and production instructions.
- Perform general labor duties, including moving materials and supporting production as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or material handling experience.
- Forklift experience required.
- Previous machine operating experience is a plus.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work and lifting 50–75 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a commitment to safety.
Work Environment & Safety:
- Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with spot coolers.
- Work with lead-based materials in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Must wear a half-mask respirator throughout the shift.
- Must remain clean-shaven at all times to ensure a proper respirator seal.
- Daily showering before leaving the facility and periodic blood testing are required.
- Must follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements.
