Customer Service, Mechanical Maintenance & Field Service

Openwork is hiring a motivated and mechanically inclined Sales & Service Technician Trainee for an established company in Houston, TX 77032.
This hands-on position focuses on assisting with service routes, maintaining and installing equipment, providing customer service, and learning field service operations.

Qualified candidates should have strong customer service skills, mechanical aptitude, experience using hand tools, and a valid Texas driver's license. This entry-level opportunity offers hands-on training, commission opportunities, and career advancement.

Position Details:
  • Location: Houston, TX 77032.
  • Pay: $20/hr + Commission Opportunities.
  • Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
  • Shift: 1st Shift.
  • Employment: Full-Time | Direct Hire.
  • Training: Hands-on training provided.
  • On-Call: Rotating on-call and emergency service availability required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist technicians with daily service routes.
  • Help install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer locations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist with equipment repairs and rebuilding.
  • Stock company vehicles with necessary tools and supplies.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Prepare invoices, collect payments, and maintain records.
  • Follow company safety procedures and service guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service experience required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools.
  • Ability to learn basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Valid Texas driver's license required.
  • Comfortable driving for extended periods.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement after 90 days.
  • Must meet applicable DOT and company driving requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability for rotating on-call and emergency service assignments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn.

Driving & CDL Requirements:
  • Valid Texas driver's license required.
  • Must meet company driving eligibility standards.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Company provides CDL training and study materials.
  • Company pays CDL licensing and examination costs.
  • Must meet applicable DOT and Hazmat endorsement requirements.

Interview & Training:
  • Candidates may accompany a technician on a service route during the interview.
  • Basic hand tool knowledge will be evaluated.
  • Hands-on equipment and service training provided.
  • CDL and Hazmat endorsement training support available.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Field service and customer-facing environment.
  • Frequent travel to customer locations.
  • Hands-on equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Regular use of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing, bending, and other physical activities.
  • Rotating on-call and emergency service availability.
  • Follow all DOT and workplace safety procedures.
