Openwork is partnering with a respected manufacturer of premium steel and aluminum bar grating to hire experienced Structural Fitters for their 3rd shift team. Shift Schedule:
- 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Overtime available based on production demands.
A required fit-up test will be conducted during the on-site interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare steel components.
- Fit and tack weld materials according to detailed specifications.
- Assemble grating panels, stair treads, frames, and related structural products.
- Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes.
- Inspect assemblies to ensure dimensional accuracy within 1/8-inch tolerance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-driven work area.
- Collaborate with welders and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a structural fitter, fabricator, or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Strong blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, cutting torches, and precision measuring devices.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable with strong attendance and punctuality.
- Successful completion of the on-site fit-up test.
