Uniform Retail Clerk

Openwork is hiring a Uniform Retail Clerk for an established public safety uniform supplier in Southeast Houston. This customer-facing role combines apparel measuring and fitting, retail service, inventory, and order preparation.

We're seeking someone with hands-on customer measuring experience, strong customer service skills, and excellent attention to detail. Candidates with backgrounds in uniform sales, tailoring, men's clothing, or apparel retail are encouraged to apply.

Position at a Glance:
Location: Southeast Houston, TX.
Pay: $17.00 per hour | Weekly Pay.
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire.
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with one weekday off.
Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM.
Sunday: Off.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Measure customers and assist with uniform sizing and fitting.
  • Help customers select uniforms and answer product questions.
  • Process purchases, returns, and special orders.
  • Receive, tag, organize, and display merchandise.
  • Maintain inventory and prepare customer orders.
  • Inspect items for quality and accuracy.
  • Keep the showroom clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • 2+ years of recent retail or customer service experience.
  • Hands-on experience measuring customers for clothing or uniforms (REQUIRED).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assist customers with sizing and fitting.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Professional communication and multitasking skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Apparel & Fitting Experience That Stands Out:
Experience in any of these environments is a plus:
  • Uniform sales or fitting.
  • Tailor shops or clothing alterations.
  • Men's clothing stores.
  • Apparel or specialty clothing retailers.
  • Retail inventory and special orders.
  • Previous customer measuring experience is required. Uniform-specific measuring experience is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Customer-facing retail showroom.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move merchandise.
  • Maintain an organized and professional work area.
  • Availability to work the assigned weekday and Saturday schedule.
