Openwork is partnering with Harris County to hire compassionate and dependable Veterinary Assistants. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with animals and want hands-on experience in a veterinary and shelter environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and routine procedures.
- Feed, clean, and monitor animals.
- Safely handle and restrain animals as needed.
- Help administer medications and support basic testing.
- Maintain clean and organized treatment areas.
- Document animal care and observations.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors and pet owners.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in animal care, veterinary clinics, kennels, shelters, or a related environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and positive attitude.
