BEARing Gifts Program – Houston, TX 77018.

Openwork is currently hiring two (2) motivated, dependable Temporary Warehouse Assistants to support the BEARing Gifts Program in Houston, TX 77018. This short-term seasonal role assists program staff with receiving, organizing, inventorying, and staging donated items for children and families across the community.

Position Details:

  • Pay Rate: $15.00/hr | Weekly Pay.
  • Location: Houston, TX 77018.
  • Assignment Dates: November 23 – December 18 (with the possibility to extend through the end of December).
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (includes a 30-minute lunch).
  • Thanksgiving Week Schedule: Works Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (Nov. 23–25); off Thursday and Friday.
  • Employment Type: Short-Term Temporary/Seasonal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day warehouse and room activities across BEAR programs.
  • Receive, stock, inventory, and organize donated goods and items.
  • Assist caseworkers with retrieving resources and support volunteers assisting with program operations.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records and ensure items are in quality condition.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean, safe, and organized, including breaking down boxes and disposing of debris.
  • Support program supervisors and coordinators with meeting key program deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Customer-service oriented with a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Basic office computer skills and familiarity with database or inventory entry.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in an active setting.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift boxes/items for extended periods.
  • Dependable attendance and strong teamwork abilities.
