Seeking: Warehouse Associate – 2nd Shift
Location: Northwest Houston, TX
Pay: $17.50 per hour | Weekly Pay
Training Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (until training is complete)
Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday | 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Overtime: Required based on business needs and may be assigned with little or no advance notice
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Openwork is hiring a Warehouse Associate – 2nd Shift for a leading steel distribution company in Northwest Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with warehouse and steel industry experience who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Pick and fill customer orders using pick tickets.
- Verify material size, grade, quantity, and heat numbers for accuracy.
- Pull materials for customer orders and internal transfers.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
- Cut steel materials using saws, shears, ironworkers, and burning tables.
- Complete required paperwork, customer labels, and equipment inspection reports.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to safely move materials.
- Use tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred.
- Previous steel distribution or steel manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- General knowledge of structural steel, pipe, and plate steel.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to read pick tickets and accurately use tape measures and basic measuring tools.
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, climb, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Must be flexible and available to work overtime with little or no advance notice.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening.
