Now Hiring: Warehouse Packer - Day Shift
Location: Houston, TX 77029
Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Pay: $16-$18/hour

The Houston branch of Openwork has partnered with a growing Pipe, Valve & Flange company in Houston to add a Warehouse Packer to their team!

What You'll Be Doing:

Order Picking & Packing: Pull correct items using order pick sheets, examine inventory for damage, and securely assemble, pack, and label orders for shipping.
Shipping & Receiving Support: Assist in loading and unloading trucks, checking incoming freight against documentation, and stocking items in designated bays or bins.
Stock & Rack Organization: Sort and arrange inventory—such as pipe fittings, valves, and hardware—on racks, shelves, and pallets according to warehouse layout standards.
Equipment & Material Operation: Operate material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and order pickers as needed to transport items.
Facility Maintenance & Safety: Maintain clean work stations, sweep, dust, and clear pallet areas to keep the warehouse hazard-free; wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

What We're Looking For:

Speak and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
1+ years PVF industry experience.
Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables
High school diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
Ability to drive forklift and secure certification.
Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs. with back support.
Able to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assigned.
Takes initiative and can work independently.
Requires a high level of attention to detail.
Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

PPE Required:

Hardhat; Type 1 Class E, Orange (high visibility)

Safety Glasses – ANSI z87+, Clear

Safety Vest – Type R, Class 2, None FR, Yellow/Green, or Orange

Cut resistant gloves LVL 4+

Steel Toed Boots (at least 5” ankle coverage)
